Lily Wei is a Chinese-New Zealander artist currently living and working in London.

Drawing on her own experiences growing up between New Zealand and China, a topic that concerns Lily’s artworks would be the talking point of identity in Third Culture Kids. Cross-cultural children can find themselves in a way of living neither fully like those in the local community nor with relatives back at home, harboring an ever changing, unique sense of selfhood separated from both origin and host culture.

Lily’s current paintings celebrate her emotions of being part of the Asian diaspora and explore displacement, museum repatriation, movement and the concept of Hiraeth.

She completed her baccalaureate at Chelsea College of Art, London, where she painted her way through a fine art degree. Lily is currently studying her Masters at the Royal College of Art.
